Citterio looked back to the lounge seating of the 1950s and 1960s, the years when bamboo and rattan frames filled porches and hotel verandas. Tilos keeps those rounded outlines but builds them another way. A metal structure sets the shape, and acrylic rope is woven over it to make the shell. What results has the warmth of a cane chair, made from materials that can stand up to weather.

Rope in an open weave lets rain drain straight through, so the shell dries soon after a shower. Kettal has also brought in a braided synthetic rope in a warm brown, a shade that sits nearer to the natural cane the design refers to. The cushions are the soft half of the system, and they are the part worth storing indoors when the season closes; the rope and metal shell can stay out.

The Kettal Tilos modular sofa grows one piece at a time. Straight modules line up along a wall, and the newer curved corner units, at 90 and at 40 degrees, bend the layout into an arc for a wide terrace or close it into a tight group for a small courtyard. The armchair joins it as a club chair, and a matching footrest now extends that seat.

For the table, the stackable chair with armrests carries the same woven shell and stacks away after use. Kettal pairs Tilos with tables on teak or aluminum structures and, in the 2026 additions, with ceramic tops and bases, among them a round dining table and a side table.
